MY DAY'S LONG AND ARDUOUS JOURNEY winds down.
Infinite night gracefully descends and takes me into her
Welcomed embrace.
I have no reason to fear the inevitable,
That transition into a higher and
More glorious state
Than allowed me upon this
Beautiful but angst-filled
Habitation.
I rejoice in what has been
Prepared from early on.
I await the call . . .
I watch the black oaks of my woods sway gently against an early morning expanse that is an uncharacteristic gray, but a gray illumined by a softer and gentler summer's sun.
What yesterday had been the regal, glossy green leaves of the stately sentinels are today, rather, a buffed sage foliage that I do not recall ever having viewed before. Somehow, the look, the feel, the mood that overtake me at this moment transport me back to the foggy coast of my youth. Lots of blushes and giggling in the audience.

Mondegreen:
From the mishearing in a Scottish ballad of “laid him on the green” as “Lady Mondegreen.”
“Very close veins” is a mondegreen for “varicose veins.”

with so many aging bethelites being "laid off" after years of volunteer service, what hope do they have of collecting any social security retirement?
i ask because i recently learned that my mother will not receive any government retirement benefits because she did not work enough to collect the 40 credits required.
this got me to thinking about bethel volunteers.
i feel that this old information on dr. brenda upton deserves a thread of its own as its earlier post on another thread elicited no comment.
needless to say, it was still seen and reviewed by not a few readers.. isn't this situation a reflection of what is happening now in spain?.
church may be forced to pay millions .
This subject seems apropos, given current interest in newly, and formerly, axed volunteers workers at The House of Hurtfulness . . .

We had terrible flooding in California this February, so we can empathize and worry along with you. Nearly 200,000 were displaced when a spillway was expected (but did not) collapse.
I was in Queensland almost 20 years ago and loved the summer rain and jacaranda and gum trees and fish and chips (daily) . . .
Love and blessings.
